Getting Around

Getting around Greater Phoenix has never been easier.

Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport is located in the middle of the Phoenix area, less than ten minutes from downtown, and within 20 miles of almost all of our towns and cities. The freeways leading to and from the airport are efficient, and your drive is short, no matter what part of town you are visiting.

While you’re in town, you can get around with the new METRO Light Rail which runs from central Phoenix, through downtown, Tempe (and right along the ASU campus), to Mesa in the east. See the METRO Light Rail map. Stations are close by and run right by some of the area’s top attractions, like the Heard Museum, Phoenix Art Museum, the Arizona Science Center, Chase Field, US Airways Arena, Sun Devil Stadium and many more. A one-way pass costs $1.75 or an all-day pass is $3.50, which can be purchased at the ticket vending machines at each station. During the week, trains generally run every 12 minutes from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. On weekends, it runs about every 15 minutes from 5 a.m. until 2 a.m. You can see the entire schedule here.

If you prefer to rent a car, then picking yours up at the rental car structure at the airport is quick and easy. Our taxis and car services are just as accommodating, and happy to get you on your way quickly.
