Travelers passing through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), along with the many airport employees that service them, will have a timely walk-in urgent care option for their non-life-threatening illnesses, minor injuries, and select onsite prescription needs. USCareWays, through a partnership with innovative and leading airport concessionaire Paradies Lagardère, will be open daily between 8am to 8pm in Terminal 4 (Level 3, inside Drugs & More) to treat any patients over the age of six months who need to see a medical provider quickly.

The new Hampton Inn and Suites Phoenix Downtown will open this month at 77 East Polk St. The new property is located within walking distance to the ASU downtown campus, Phoenix Convention Center, CityScape, Talking Stick Resort Arena and Chase Field. In addition, the property features the Forever Young room design by Hilton Hotels and the first Hampton Inn Lobby Bar located in the Perfect Mix Lobby. 

After a six-month, multi-million-dollar development, the Embassy Suites by Hilton Phoenix Downtown opened at 10 East Thomas Road. This heart-of-Phoenix location offers guests easy access to all downtown attractions — from sporting events and the Phoenix Convention Center to museums, dining, shopping, entertainment, the light rail and Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. In March the wellness industry’s highly anticipated launch of the next generation hospitality wellness brand, CIVANA, made its debut at the location formerly known as the Carefree Resort and Conference Center in Carefree, AZ.  Complete with healthy dining, spa, movement and fitness classes and enrichment programs and lectures, CIVANA is the first sustainable wellness resort to open in Greater Phoenix, the 6th largest market. CIVANA focuses on four pillars – Healthy Cuisine, Movement, Healing Arts/Spa and Discovery & Enrichments Arts.  Only months after its acquisition, CIVANA Carefree has undergone a multi-phase renovation of its public spaces, 189 rooms, dining outlets, and the conversion of meeting space into state of the art fitness, yoga, energy, movement and enrichment studios.  CIVANA Carefree’s all-day dining outlet – Terras -  is about choice (from healthy to indulgent food) and will offer shared plates and more vegetable forward dishes.  Complementing it will be Café Meto, which gets its name from the Latin word for harvest/gathering and will open in the latter half of the month featuring menu selections vetted for the calorie and nutrition content, set in a casual outdoor courtyard setting.

Nestled at the base of America’s largest urban park and wilderness preserve, the newly transformed Arizona Grand Resort & Spa now features a residential-style look in all 744 guest suites, offering a true “home away from home” experience. Highlights include new hardwood-style flooring in all guest suite living rooms, a fresh color palette and new paint throughout, new carpet in all guest suite bedrooms and new “soft goods” from bedding to drapery and sheers.  New sofa beds in the guest suite living rooms, walk-in showers featuring glass partitions and new artwork round out the list of upgrades.

Great Wolf Lodge Arizona is making history with the state’s first-ever indoor water park. The 85,000 square-foot water park will include slides, raft rides, activity pools and splash pads. In addition to the indoor pools, the hotel will feature a 27,000 square-foot family adventure center, an outdoor pool, family-friendly activities, and a food court. The hotel is set to open in Scottsdale mid-to-late 2019.

The Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort & Spa, featuring a newly redesigned ultra-lux Spa Casitas and Spa Suites, was ranked among the Top 25 Luxury Hotels in the United States in TripAdvisor’s 2018 Travelers’ Choice Awards. The awards are determined based on “millions of reviews and opinions collected in a single year,” per TripAdvisor, zeroing in on accommodations that receive the highest marks for value, service, amenities and overall experience.

Hotel Adeline, formerly Scottsdale Inn, will begin its soft opening after partially completing its $12 million renovations. During the soft opening, the hotel will have 40 percent of rooms available for guests and is offering special rates during this time. After completion, Hotel Adeline will offer 213 guestrooms and feature a 3,000 square-foot zero edge pool.

 The Scott has been reborn with lively cultural programming that celebrates Mission style architecture, infused with the colors and comforts of a 1930s Havana aesthetic and the elegant geometry of the Bauhaus movement fixtures and décor – all while celebrating its prime location in Old Town Scottsdale. Phase one of the renovations to the resort’s public spaces debuted in September 2017, introducing a refreshed and re-concepted lobby bar, restaurant, pool bar and outdoor pool oasis with new cabanas collectively named “The Canal Club,” as well as 14,500 square feet of refurbished meeting space. The second phase will comprise all guest rooms and suites, with significant upgrades ranging from new furniture packages and case goods to redesigned bathrooms. The following wave of renovations, to be completed fall 2018, will also unveil an all-new presidential suite and the addition of 12 one-bedroom suites.

The Boulders Resort 12 Weeks to Wellness is a new fitness program that will be offered throughout 2018 and includes two fitness assessments with the spa’s certified fitness instructor; weekly sessions with the spa’s certified personal trainer; customized healthy eating programs by the spa’s certified nutritionist. The program also includes all fitness classes and 15 percent off meals at the Spa Café. 12 Weeks to Wellness is available for both resort guests and local residents.

The JW Marriot Desert Ridge Resort & Spa added 12 luxury pickleball courts to its full-service racquet center. The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch, A Destination Hotel continues their $11 million improvements with recently completed architectural, décor and soft goods renovations to three Presidential Suites. These sophisticated 1,375-square-foot accommodations received a large-scale design refresh totaling $150,000 to convert the spaces into an open concept with a modern Spanish inspiration. Interior highlights include elegant new textiles, bedding, furniture, original artwork, and a brightened color scheme in blue, grey, burnt orange, black, and white. The Lost Lake Festival returns to Phoenix this year from Oct. 19 to Oct. 21. From the creators of Bonnaroo and Outside Lands music festivals, this will be the second year of Lost Lake, a three-day celebration of the Valley of the Sun’s vibrant culture through an eclectic blend of music, locally-driven culinary treats, interactive games and inspiring art experiences. The Musical Instrument Museum Music Theater proudly announces its Summer 2018 Concert Series, includes more than fifty concerts from May through September, spanning multiple genres across the globe. The Desert Botanical Garden will host the world premiere Ballet Arizona’s “Eroica” from May 15 through June 2.  As a part of their Evening at Desert Botanical Garden series, “Eroica” is a new ballet by Artistic Director Ib Anderson set to Beethoven’s iconic third symphony. Tickets start at $40.

T. Cook’s has also refined its Sunday Market Brunch, The impressive, all-inclusive dining experience offers guests the choice of a tapas-style starter such as Beef Tartare, Savory Mushroom Crepe or Pan-Roasted Hudson Valley Foie Gras and an entrée like the Spanish Chorizo Benedict, Harissa Sautéed Filet Tip Pupusa or Pan Roasted Maine Diver Sea Scallops, among others. Plus, guests enjoy the unlimited, buffet-style Mediterranean seafood presentation, a grand display of favorite brunch selections and bakeshop specialties and sweets.

If the culinary combination of fried chicken and champagne wasn’t good enough, how about adding in some jazz too? That’s exactly what Arizona’s most innovative new food truck has done. In addition to being able to book Fried & Fizzy for special event catering needs, the food truck now offers the option to book Doc Jones, a popular local jazz musician, to coincide with favorite food and drink indulgences. The agreement, announced today, appears to be a musical first for an Arizona food truck. Anyone who would like to book the Fried & Fizzy food truck for private parties and events can choose to add on Doc Jones’ band for $950 for two hours and $250 for each hour thereafter. It is not required to book Doc’s band to book the food truck.

While they're normally closed on Sundays, Mother's Day is the only Sunday of the year that the House of Tricks family and staff forego their usual day off and rally to show love, support and superior dining and drink options for moms -- and this year is no different, with a scrumptious 3-course prix-fixe plus a children menu. 

In celebration of Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby both falling on Saturday May 5, Ocean Prime will offer two theme-appropriate cocktails in the lounge for the special price of just $14 each. Southern Rail will celebrate the most exciting two minutes in sports on Saturday, May 5 from 1-5 p.m. Sip on mint juleps while you cheer on your favorite horse and enjoy a special Derby Day menu crafted by Chef Beckett (in addition to regular lunch & dinner menu). Hash Kitchen is starting summer a bit early with deals to keep you cool as we head into 100-degree temperatures. On Mondays through October 1, Hash Kitchen is offering parents a deal on kids meals. Woody’s Macayo Mexican Restaurants are making happy hour a little happier with newly released food and drink specials every Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a reverse happy hour from 8 p.m. to close. Happy hour drink specials include $3 Michelob Ultra and Sesión Cerveza, $5 Margaritas and Tito’s Vodka cocktails. Additionally, green corn tamale bites, Mexican corn, guacamole, queso fundido and two street tacos will be only $5 during happy hour.

Sunday Funday just got a whole lot tastier now that all-new Bevvy in Uptown Phoenix is rolling out the Valley's first-ever 'PartyBrunch.'  Bevvy Uptown's weekly PartyBrunch pairs sharable all-you-can-brunch eats with keep-'em-coming Bloody Marys and mimosas.
