Douglas MacKenzie, the communications director for the Greater Phoenix Convention & Visitors Bureau, has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Phoenix chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. MacKenzie previously served on the Board and as President of the national PRSA’s Travel and Tourism group. He has been with the Greater Phoenix CVB more than ten years.
The Phoenix chapter is one of the largest in the nation, serving more than 300 public relations and communications professionals. “I am excited about serving in a Public Relations capacity that helps us promote our attractive and vibrant destination, said Doug MacKenzie.
The Public Relations Society of America, based in New York City, is the world's largest organization for public relations professionals. The Society has nearly 32,000 professional and student members. PRSA is organized into more than 100 Chapters nationwide, 19 Professional Interest Sections and Affinity Groups, which represent business and industry, counseling firms, independent practitioners, military, government, associations, hospitals, schools, professional services firms and nonprofit organizations.
