Phoenix (Nov. 7, 2012) – This week, more than 20 convention and meeting planners representing diverse organizations across America will visit downtown Phoenix for a Buyer’s Education Trip. The group will experience the coolness of the Convention Center, the new downtown hotels, shopping at Cityscape, our light rail, and the local restaurant and entertainment scene. Mayor Greg Stanton will also welcome them to the City.

"We are still new to the major leagues of large conventions and not all of them know about our new Downtown,” explained Steve Moore, President and CEO for the Greater Phoenix CVB.“Their time exploring our vibrant urban core as well as the closeness of the Sonoran Desert is simply explained as seeing is believing. Our new expanded Phoenix Convention Center is convenient for conventions and meetings from every part of the country.”

These groups represent more than 62,000 delegates that would meet in our destination. If booked, their conventions would provide more than $83 million dollars in direct spending.
