Donn Oswald, 38, associate director of convention sales with the Greater Phoenix Convention & Visitors Bureau (GPCVB), has been recognized as one of the “Top 40 Under 40” in the October issue of Rejuvenate magazine. This honor showcases the best leaders in the faith-based meeting planning industry and is evaluated by industry peers and leaders. The Top 40 recognition was not advertising-driven nor was it connected with any promotional contest, making Oswald’s acknowledgment a true honor.
Originally from the Chicago area, Oswald has been in the hotel business for 23 years and handles groups up to 70,000 delegates. He began his career by setting up meeting rooms at a Holiday Inn during high school and is now the GPCVB associate director of convention sales.
Oswald’s recognition was based on his references, industry involvement, and his comments on social media and group websites. He hosted the General Council of The Assemblies of God, one of the largest conventions in Phoenix, and was awarded the Copper Quill Award for FaithinPhoenix.com from the Phoenix chapter of International Association of Business Communicators.
In his free time, Oswald spends time with his wife and three children, playing baseball, soccer, and activities such as skateboarding.
