Cinco de Mayo may land on a Monday this year, but the festivities will be kicking off across town all this weekend. Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Phoenix with fun festivals, live music, and plenty of Mexican food and drinks.

Westgate Cinco de Mayo Celebration: May 1-5
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Westgate Entertainment District. Enjoy drink specials from over nine restaurants and bars, all within walking distance of each other. There will also be the inaugural Cinco de Miler Run where runners can choose between a 5-mile and 5K course. The finish line will feature a sombrero shuffle, live music, and a free beer or margarita from Calico Jack’s Mexican Cantina.

Avondale Cinco de Mayo Fiesta: May 2
If you are looking to sip on margaritas and enjoy tacos and tamales, the Avondale Cinco de Mayo Fiesta is the place for you. There will be performances by Power Drive, Mariachi Aguila, and Ballet Folklorico Esperanza. Take part in the salsa making competition or browse the different displays of Mexican art will be available purchase.

Weekend Celebration at Dos Gringos: May 2-5
Special appearances from live DJs and other musical entertainment will be going on all weekend at Dos Gringos, including LIFE, DJ Switch and DJ Design. Grab a seat and a drink on Saturday to watch the Mayweather vs. Maidana fight.

Cinco de Mayo Phoenix Festival: May 3-4

One of the largest multicultural festivals in Arizona is back for its 21st year. The family-friendly event provides guests with live music, carnival rides and games, a boxing tournament, and lucha libre. There will also be ballet folklorico, authentic Mexican food, and prizes and giveaways.

Chihuahua Races and Cinco de Mayo: May 3
This annual event celebrates the Hispanic community’s many contributions to the City of Chandler. There will be chihuahua races, food and beverages, entertainment, and the crowning of King and Queen Chihuahua.

Relax and enjoy a night of Spanish Guitars, wine, and Mexican themed food. Alcantara will be creating their own Wine-O-Rita for Cinco de Mayo, also.

Get your Cinco de Mayo celebration started early at Rawhide. They will be throwing an event on Saturday that will feature over 15 Mexican beers, margaritas, live music, a street fair, and delicious food.

Cinco de May Painting Party: May 3
Bring a bottle of wine or a case of beer to enjoy while you paint the feature artwork, ‘Chile Peppers,’ in honor of Cinco de Mayo. A Mexican food party platter will be served, as well. No painting experience required.

Sandbar’s annual Cinco de Sanbar event is bigger and better this year. Enjoy new cabanas, live music from various DJs, and watch the Floyd Mayweather fight. Drinks specials will be going on all weekend, including $3 Dos XX and $5 house margaritas.

Children’s Cinco de Mayo: May 4
Let the kids have some fun this Cinco de Mayo! Spiderman will be making a special appearance at Enchanted Island Amusement Park to sign autographs and take pictures. There will also be live entertainment from a Hispanic band and ballet folklorico, and the chance to take a swing at candy-filled piñatas. Special priced wristbands for rides for children and adults will be available for only $7.50.

Get into the spirit of Mexico at this year’s fiesta marketplace. The event will feature a street-style taco cart, strolling mariachis, piñatas, a guacamole sampling station, and churros fried to order. Sample over 240 selections of tequila and take a picture with Mija, the beer donkey.
