The Downtown Phoenix Partnership hosted it’s annual Taste of Downtown event this past week to celebrate the release of their Downtown Phoenix Dining Guide. I was lucky enough to sample some delicious food and drinks from six of downtown Phoenix’s restaurants at this wonderful event.

This year’s Downtown Phoenix Dining Guide features a lovely cover by local artist, Christina Mesiti, titled, “Outside, please.” Appropriate, being that Phoenicians and visitors alike love to dine outside the majority of the year.

Now to the food.

Marston’s Café, located inside the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown featured local ingredients in it’s McClendon Farms Squash Blossom with White Shrimp Mousse and Wilcox Summer Corn Soup dish.

Next up, the newly opened Blue Hound Kitchen & Cocktails located inside the Hotel Palomar at CityScape served a Hamachi Crudo with Fennel, Fresno Chile and Sea Beans.

Thai’d Up was next with Green Curry, Summer Roll, Sticky Rice with Custard and Thai Tea.

The Strand Urban Italian featured it’s Beef & Pork Tortellini with Prosciutto and Crispy Sage in Creamy Alfredo Sauce.

Wrapping it up was The Arrogant Butcher with their Peanut Butter Cup dessert.

Corner Bakery provided refreshing lemonade and their signature black currant tea.
