We’ve got fun for kids and kids at heart in our top things to do in Phoenix this weekend:
The Pinewood Classic: April 25
The mini wooden racers of yesteryear return to downtown with the second annual Pinewood Classic. They’ve got a full roster of racers already, but head on down to watch the competition and take in an afternoon of food, beer and neighborly fun at Short Leash Hot Dogs, host of the event.
Wet Electric Electronic Music Festival: April 25-26
Some of the biggest names in electronic music, such as Tiesto and Dillon Francis, headline this two-day festival at Big Surf Waterpark.
Slide the City: April 25
They don’t sell slip ‘n’ slides like this at Target. Grab a tube and hold on tight as the nationally-touring Slide the City water party brings their 1,000-foot-long vinyl slide to Fountain Hills this weekend. Live music, food, drinks and more are part of the festivities. If you can’t make it this weekend, Slide the City comes to downtown Phoenix May 16.
Día del Niño at Phoenix Zoo: April 26
It’s a big day for little tykes at the Phoenix Zoo this Sunday. Special activities such as live music, folkloric dancers, games, piñatas, and more are included in zoo admission for the day.
Catch a play: All weekend
There are lots of options for catching some culture at local theatres and venues this weekend, such as Motown the Musical at ASU Gammage, Shrek: The Musical at Desert Stages Theater, The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley at Valley Youth Theatre, and more Bat Boy: The Musical at The John Paul Theatre at Phoenix College. See more shows and performances in the link below.
