While much of the country stays bundled up for winter, we’ll be busting out the shorts and t-shirts and reveling in sunny skies and high temperatures in the 80s. Get out there and enjoy it with our top things to do this weekend in Phoenix:
Peach Blossom Celebration: February 5-8 (Thursdays-Sundays through the end of February)
Spend a day down on the farm as this annual month-long celebration kicks off at scenic Schnepf Farms. Guests can walk among the blossoms in guided orchard tours, take a train ride though the orchard, savor peachy baked goods at the country store and bakery, and more at this family-friendly festival.
Heard Museum World Championship Hop Dance Contest: February 7-8
The photo below doesn’t do justice to the spectacular displays of artistic performance at this annual competition, one of the acclaimed Heard Museum’s signature events. Top competitors from around the country will be competing for prestigious titles.
Street Eats Food Truck Festival: February 7-8
If you haven’t experienced the tastes of our local food trucks, your taste buds have been missing out. More than 50 trucks will descend on Salt River Fields for a weekend of great food, live music, cooking demos and more. Some of the trucks scheduled to appear include favorites such as the Maine Lobster Lady, Queso Good, Emerson Fry Bread and Burgers Amore.
Concours in the Hills: February 7
Missed Barrett-Jackson and the rest of the auto shows a few weeks ago? Head to scenic Fountain Park in Fountain Hills and see a spectacular display of exotic, muscle, sports and other types of high-performance vehicles.
Great Canadian Picnic: February 7
It’s all things Canadian (minus the freezing temperatures) at this weekend’s festival at South Mountain Park and Preserve. Curling, hockey, snow games, and more are part of the family-friendly festivities. And yes, there will be poutine.
