It's off to the races this weekend with a marathon, fine car auction and fine art showcase in Phoenix. Get all the details below.
You don't have to race the marathon or half marathon (or even the 5K) to enjoy this annual event. Get out and spectate for free along the race's courses through downtown Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe, while live bands play every mile and locals cheer on teams and friends. Check out road closures here on the race site.

Downtown's free outdoor movie series returns in the new year (that's right, we're watching movies outside in January). Grab a blanket or chair and join the community for a family-friendly showing of Zootopia, plus themed activities and playtime in a splashpad.
One of the world's premiere collector car auctions is back at WestWorld of Scottsdale, kicking off this weekend with cool cars and a lot more: Dodge thrill rides, BMX exhibitions, automobilia auction and arena polo are all on the docket for Saturday and Sunday, while the famed collector car auction starts the following Monday. Come for a day or get a week pass to see it all.

Watch artists at work during the annual Arizona Fine Art EXPO, a gathering of more than 100 acclaimed artists from across the country, as they produce fine art in a variety of mediums. Inside is where you'll catch sketching, painting and mixed media in progress; head outside to take a stroll through a sculpture garden and observe clay sculpting, woodworking, and welding under outdoor cabanas. It's a great chance to connect with the artists while they work in their new outdoor "studios."

There's snow in the forecast for Phoenix this weekend, but it's the good kind that melts away after you're done having fun. Desert Ridge Marketplace invites families to grab their mittens and play in 40 tons of snow, plus enjoy live music, giveaways and cookie decoration.
