Geeks, unite! This weekend’s Phoenix Comicon highlights the top things to do in Phoenix this weekend:

Phoenix Comicon: June 5-8
Comicon ain’t just for comic book geeks anymore. Phoenix’s Comicon has evolved into the biggest pop culture experience in the Southwest and will once again bring out the stars of film, TV, comics, anime and more. Actor Danny Glover, Adam West (aka Batman), Bruce Campbell, and the legendary Stan Lee are just a few of the dozens of scheduled appearances.

First Fridays Art Walk: June 6
It’s that time again for the monthly First Fridays art walk, when more than 70 art galleries and businesses open their doors for free along Roosevelt Row and the Grand Avenue Arts District. In addition to the usual festivities, the evening will be the kickoff of Roosevelt Row’s summer “vampire hours.” Wait until the summer sun sets before exploring the eclectic neighborhood’s shops, galleries and restaurants that will be staying open until 9 p.m or later through Labor Day. Just one of the places we recommend you visit is Jobot Coffee, open 24 hours on weekends. Grab one of their delicious crepes and a coffee and chat with friends into the wee hours of the night.

Flashlight Tours at the Desert Botanical Garden: Thursday and Saturday nights through August
When the summer sun goes down, the critters come out. Experience what happens after dark in the desert at the Desert Botanical Garden’s bi-weekly family-friendly event. While strolling along the garden’s trails, kids will get to see lizards, scorpions, snakes, toads and more at discovery stations.

Disney in Concert: Magical Music from the Movies: June 6-8
Those people at Disney sure know how to craft a catchy tune. And this weekend, fans can see their favorite songs from Disney movies come to life at this multimedia experience. Broadway singers and the Phoenix Symphony come together to perform favorites from movies such as The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, and more, while scenes from the films are projected on screen. Make sure to warm up your pipes before coming, as each performance will feature sing-alongs.

Summer Splash Tour: June 7
If you’ve been in Phoenix the past couple weeks, we don’t have to tell you that summer has arrived. But with the heat comes fun ways to stay cool. This year’s Summer Splash Tour kicks off Saturday at Gilbert’s Civic Center Park. Kids can go wild with water slides, bounce houses, water balloon battles, carnival games and lots more. Check Summer Splash’s website for this season’s full schedule.
