Paint PHX 5th Street Block Party: March 7
This year’s Paint PHX weekend—which features dozens of artists creating murals throughout downtown and central Phoenix—is highlighted by this community block party. Live music from local favorites, live murals and art battles, a lowrider car show, beer gardens and more are part of the festivities near Roosevelt Row.
Art Detour: March 7-8
It’s big weekend for art fans in downtown Phoenix. In addition to Paint PHX, it’s the the annual Art Detour weekend. Dozens of galleries and spaces will be opening their doors for free from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. each day. Get around by foot, on their free circulating trolley, or check out the Grid Bike Share.
Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair and Market: March 7-8
The annual Indian fair and market, one of the acclaimed museum’s signature events, returns this weekend. More than 600 of the country’s top American Indian artisans will be on hand with jewelry, pottery, paintings and much more. Don’t miss the always impressive dance performances, art demonstrations and culinary demos too.
Spring butterfly exhibit at Desert Botanical Garden: March 7 – May 10
What would spring be without a bounty of butterflies? Hundreds of the colorful creatures return to the Desert Botanical Garden’s butterfly pavilion this weekend.
