The First Fridays art walk and Cinco de Mayo and Kentucky Derby festivities are just a few of our top things to do this weekend in Phoenix:

Cinco de Mayo festivities: May 1-5
Mondays generally aren’t the best days to celebrate a holiday such as Cinco de Mayo. Luckily, the party will get started over the weekend at spots all over greater Phoenix. Check out our blog post here for the details on parties, festivals, and family-friendly fun.

Artlink First Fridays: May 2
It’s that time again for the eclectic community gathering known as First Fridays. Walk, ride the light rail, or hop on the free trolley and visit more than 70 art galleries and spaces – all free – in downtown Phoenix and the Grand Avenue arts district. Live music, food trucks, and more are part of the festivities. Get destination maps and tips on making the most of the night here.

Greek Festival of Chandler
: May 2-4
Come celebrate all things Greece at the Greek Festival of Chandler. Greek food, music, folk dancing and more are all a part of the weekend’s festivities at St. Katherine Church. Head to the event’s website, “like” the event’s Facebook page, and they’ll email you two free admissions!

Derby Day at the Phoenician: May 3
You don’t have to fly to Churchill Downs to enjoy the springtime revelry of the Kentucky Derby. Don your best Derby hat, head to the scenic Phoenician Resort, and sip on mint juleps while viewing the big race this Saturday. Look sharp, as there will be prizes for the best dressed!
