Burn off those Thanksgiving calories with some retail therapy and holiday cheer at these top things to do this weekend in Phoenix:
ZooLights: Through January 11
The family-favorite holiday tradition has returned to the Phoenix Zoo! Nearly four million lights spread across more than 700 displays makes this one of the largest holiday lighting events in the region. This year’s festivities also include two new Music in Motion shows, ice sculptors, 4-D viewings of Polar Express, and more.
Alternative Black Friday at CityScape: November 28
You don’t have to camp outside a store and battle crowds at 5 a.m. just to save a few bucks this Black Friday. Sleep in, go local, and enjoy the afternoon at CityScape Phoenix. Sip on mimosas or cold craft beer while perusing the goods from more than 20 local vendors. Vintage clothes, antiques, jewelry and lots more will all be available.
Mary Poppins at Phoenix Theatre: November 28-30 (And select nights through December 28)
The talented troupe at Phoenix Theatre bring this classic musical to the stage this holiday season. With all the favorite tunes included in this production, it’s sure to be…supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! (Sorry, we had to).
Tree lighting ceremony at The Wigwam: November 28
Join the historic Wigwam Resort for their annual tree lighting ceremony and a celebration of the resort’s 85th anniversary. We hear some guy from the North Pole may be stopping by for the festivities, too.
Heard Museum Ornament Marketplace: November 28-30
Whether you’re looking to get a jump start on your holiday shopping or want to add something special to your own seasonal decorations, check out the ornament marketplace at the Heard Museum. Hand-crafted ornaments from more than 20 American Indian artists will be for sale in the shop.
