With temperatures continuing to drop and autumn taking hold, it’s time to get out there and enjoy this weather with our top things to do this weekend in Phoenix:
Scottsdale International Film Festival: October 9-13
Clear your schedule this weekend, movie fanatics. Five full days of flicks—nearly 50 movies in total—are coming this weekend. The festival kicks off Thursday at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts before heading to Harkins Theatres’ Shea 14 for the remaining dates. The festival will close out Monday night with the Oscar-buzzy Wild, starring Reese Witherspoon.
Greater Phoenix Greek Festival: October 10-12
A Phoenix tradition for more than 50 years, this festival brings the community together to celebrate the culture and cuisine of Greece. Authentic Greek food, beer, wine, dancing, cathedral tours and more are all part of the festivities.
Tempe Town Lake’s festival is hosted by Four Peaks Brewing Company (pumpkin porter!) and offers free admission. The three-day fest features live music, carnival rides, wiener dog races, a 5K/10K run, a kids zone and more. At Salt River Fields, guest can show off their cornhole skills for a chance at cash prizes, or get in on a dodgeball or beach volleyball tournament.
And, of course, the beer and bratwursts will be flowing at both.
Sunnyslope Art Walk: October 11
It’ll be a lovely night for leisurely stroll through Saturday’s Sunnyslope Art Walk in the north Phoenix neighborhood. Local artists and crafters will be on hand with their wares at this monthly street fair.

Harvest season is approaching at Queen Creek Olive Mill, and they’re kicking it off with a big ol’ party. Live music, a dozen food trucks, cornhole, bocce ball, an outdoor bar and more are all part of the festivities.
