With the arrival of October, we bid adieu to 100-degree days (hopefully) and welcome the crisp nights and all-things-pumpkin of fall. Get into the start of the season with these top things to do this weekend in Phoenix:

Schnepf Farms’ Pumpkin and Chili Party: Thursday—Sunday through November 2
Head down to the farm and get in the fall spirit with hayrides, a petting zoo, corn makes and lots more. Come hungry and dig in to their autumn cuisine with items such as chili and chicken dinners, succotash and more.

First Fridays Art Walk: October 3
There’s no monsoon in the forecast and the thermostat is staying below 100, so make your way downtown and join the community for the First Fridays art walk. As always, more than 70 art galleries and spaces will open their doors for free. Art and clothing vendors, food trucks, live music and more are all part of the popular event.

A Taste of Greece: Greek Festival of Chandler: October 3-5
Celebrate all things Greece at the return of this annual festival. Live traditional Greek music, costumed folk dancing, and, of course, lots of Greek food are all part of the festivities. And with admission just $3 per person, it makes for an affordable afternoon of family fun.

SanTan Brewing Oktoberfest and Phoenix Oktoberfest: October 4
With the return of fall comes one of the season’s most popular activites: Oktoberfests. Two big ones are going down this weekend with the Phoenix Oktoberfest at Margaret T. Hance Park and SanTan Brewing’s Oktoberfest at Chandler’s Dr. A.J. Chandler Park. Strap on your finest lederhosen and head to either one for lots of beer, music, brats and more.

Mesa’s Vertuccio Farms is the site for this family-friendly celebration of autumn. The fest is open daily and features a corn maze, mule rides, a grain train, farm animals, and lots more for kids and adults alike. While you’re there, be sure to pick out the perfect pumpkin for your Halloween jack-o’-lantern.
