Harvest a bounty of food, drink and fun at these festivals on our top things to do in Phoenix this weekend:
Oktoberfest at Tempe Town Lake: October 9-11
Festivities begin Friday as the beer gardens flow and musicians take the stage for three days of Oktoberfest celebrations. Entry is free, but bring cash to indulge in festival fare, bratwursts and craft beer favorites. You can also take a spin on carnival rides or join in some family fun with Kinderfest activities.

Phoenix Greek Festival: October 9-11
The cultural and culinary traditions of Greece come to Phoenix for a weekend of dancing, music, shopping—and plenty of authentic eats. Sample everything from souvlaki (grilled meat on a stick) to saganaki (flambéed cheese), and enjoy performances from community dancers in traditional dress. Booths at the Agora and Greek Market will sell imported Greek clothing, art, jewelry and packaged bakery goods for shoppers to take home and enjoy after the festival.

Get in the Halloween spirit with haunted houses
‘Tis the season for scares, and Phoenix’s haunted houses are now open for business. Walk through halls of horror in the award-winning 13th Floor or The Crypt, or trespass on a haunted corn maze at the AZ Field of Screams. For those who prefer to fight back against spooks, Scarizona Scaregrounds and The Outbreak at Schnepf Farms arm you with a paintball gun to fend off zombie attackers.
Schnepf Farms Pumpkin and Chili Party: Thursdays-Sundays in October
There’s nothing like a hay ride or journey to the pumpkin patch to signal the arrival of fall. Schnepf Farms has these seasonal pastimes and more, including corn mazes, fair rides, pig races and all the fixings for a delicious chili dinner. Stay late on Friday or Saturday to catch a fireworks display.

Olivepalooza at Queen Creek Olive Mill: October 10-11
It’s harvest season at Arizona’s only olive farm and mill. To kick it off, Queen Creek Olive Mill is rolling in the food trucks, busting out the bocce ball and cornhole games, and pouring beer and wine. While you’re there, learn a little Olive Oil 101 on an oil pressing tour.
