October’s here, and with it comes a harvest of fall festivals. Get details on the pick of the crop in our top things to do in Phoenix this weekend.
Chile Pepper Festival
Prepare your tastebuds. Local restaurants participating in this annual chile pepper challenge cook-off are serving their cuisine to festival-goers. And if the spice gets too hot, cool off with a beer garden, margarita station and activities such as salsa dancing, live music and cooking demos. Admission is free with food and drink available for purchase.
San Tan Brewing Oktoberfest
San Tan Brewing kicks off the month with German-style brews, brats and performances from local acts (yes, there will be polka). For the kids, there’s a family zone; for the kids at heart, there’s cornhole competitions, trike races and more beer games. Wearing lederhosen is, of course, encouraged.
Downtown Chandler, 3 S Arizona Ave, Chandler 85225
Tour de Fat
Roll in for a massive, costumed bike parade around Downtown Tempe, then kick back in the park for beer and eclectic entertainment including a fashion show, musical acts, circus-style performances and bike-centric festivities.
Tequila, Taco & Cerveza Fest
It’s all in the name. This festival is for indulging in Mexican beers, international tequila styles (1o samples are included with your ticket) and taco truck offerings. Work it off by dancing to Spanish music, DJs, mariachi and live bands.
Starting October 1, families can get lost in a corn maze, pick pumpkins and play down on the farm at festivals throughout Greater Phoenix. Check each event listing below for dates and hours.
