Get details on top things to do in Phoenix this weekend below, including a beer lover’s urban trail and a family-friendly arts and culture festival.
Downtown Phoenix Urban Ale Trail
A photo ID is the only gear required for this urban trek. Quench your thirst at more than 20 participating venues along the walkable/light rail accessible ale trail, which runs from downtown to uptown. 4 ounce beer samples are only $1 or $2 and come with a bar snack. The first 300 hoppy hikers to arrive at District American Kitchen and Wine Bar, the trail’s official start, will get a free growler.
The second Friday of each month, downtown’s free outdoor film series welcomes blanket- and chair-toting movie-goers to kick back for a family-friendly evening in the park. Friday’s feature is Minions. Tip: Get there early for activities and a Minion-themed doughnut giveaway.
Mesa Arts Center 2016 Season Kickoff
Titled “Between the Lines” in a nod to the season’s upcoming literature-themed exhibitions, this free festival celebrates the arts with a night of music, artist demos and studio tours. You can expect to see live street art, food truck offerings, and a few surprises from pop-up performances.
