Some of the Valley's most talented artists will go head-to-head every month in The Duce's in-house boxing ring during A Bout to Defeat Cancer. Duking drummers, grappling guitarists, sparring saxophonists, swinging singers and battling bassists will battle it out and raise funds and awareness for cancer patients rolling with life's punches.
A Bout to Defeat Cancer was inspired by local teenager and 17-year-old Mia Waxman, who underwent ten rounds of grueling treatments and a bone marrow transplant for a rare form of Leukemia.
A chance meeting with Steve Rosenstein, coach and owner at The Duce, led to a friendship and fundraising collaboration between Mia's own organization, Miracles in Action, and The Duce. Admission is free. Donations benefit the Cancer & Lymphoma Society.
