For the tenth year in a row, CitySkate at CityScape Phoenix, the Valley’s largest and most visited outdoor holiday ice rink returns to Downtown Phoenix on Nov. 23.
Central Avenue is transformed into an ice skater’s dream with a beautiful holiday tree dramatically placed in the center of the rink along with hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights, holiday happenings and Santa appearances every Saturday and Sunday from 2-6pm. The popular “Skate it Forward” series will also be making a comeback where every Wednesday during the ice-skating season, CitySkate will team up with a local organization to raise funds and awareness for their cause. The community is invited to come out and skate from 5-11pm where $5 of every general admission ticket will be “skated” back to local organizations and groups.
The official grand opening and tree lighting ceremony will kick-off the holiday skating season on Friday, Nov. 29 (Black Friday). The event will feature real snow, special appearances from favorite movie characters and professional figure skating performances.
