Arizona Curriculum Theater returns to Downtown Phoenix with their eighth annual PoeFest celebration. The month-long schedule of events kicks off on October 7th at the historic Hotel San Carlos and runs until Halloween at the Rosson House Museum. On the main stage every Friday and Saturday at 8:00 PM in the aptly-named Ghost Lounge, professional actors will bring the stories of Edgar Allan Poe to life as characters from Poe’s fictional Maison de Santé asylum.
New thrills await festival-goers this year with PoeFest Séance, an evening that promises creepy demonstrations, experiments, and manifestations all culminating with an attempt to contact and communicate with the spirit world, and the lost soul of Edgar Allan Poe himself. In PoeFest Séance, promises to thrill and chill audiences in a brand new way.
PoeFest ends on Halloween night at Rosson House Museum with performances of The Raven every twenty minutes. The show includes a tour of the lower level of the Gothic Victorian mansion with a cooling table, a child’s coffin, Victorian-era post-mortem photographs, a 19th century doctor’s office, and artwork made from human hair.
