Special Olympics Arizona is partnering with Hunkapi Programs to host a two-day Regional Equestrian Competition on April 18 and 19. This free event will showcase special Olympians from across the state will compete in a variety of different riding style events and there will also be unified drill team classes for A, B, C division.
Hunkapi is one of the last horse farms on the Cactus Corridor in Scottsdale and uses equine therapy to help clients with PTSD, developmental disabilities, addiction recovery and more.
“We are so excited to be hosting this incredible event,” said Terra Schaad, founder of Hunkapi Programs. “Over the course of these two days, we are opening our farm and our hearts to these amazing athletes who share in our love of horses.”
