Overview

Desert Overture, Phoenix's Premiere LGBT and Ally Wind Symphony, presents Wonders of Winter: A non-holiday musical celebration. Do you love Jingle Bells, Sleigh Ride, White Christmas, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, and Silent Night? Well, bah humbug. For this upcoming winter performance, concert goers will not hear any of these classic songs. Rather, Desert Overture will be performing music that evokes feelings of winter without any of the snow or freezing cold temperatures.

Desert Overture, with its more than 40 musicians, was formed in 2010 and remains a hidden cultural gem in the Valley of the Sun. The concert band is an active member of the Lesbian Gay Band Association (LGBA), which has grown to 37 members across the country, including international bands. The group is a regular in the Pride parade and also performs at least four major concerts a year in the valley.
