There is a new coffee/craft beer/mixology headquarters on Central, a few blocks from the heart of downtown Phoenix, which aims to be a little more, er, well, grand than the average java house.
Come and relax amid decor reminiscent of an old Victorian train station, owner Steven Rogers’ answer to the present-day impersonal dystopia created by the Internet. With it's large footprint and carefully thought-out design, the Grand is often full but never crowded. Intimate nooks and crannies for silent reading or quiet conversation are interspersed with spacious meeting/study areas. Our main floor and large semi-private patio are perfect for happy hours, after-parties, or simply relaxing at the long bar that opens to the baristas/bartenders busy at work inside.
The Grand is constantly experimenting with liquors, brews, bitters, coffee beans, teas, and food, and like the station we seek to emulate, our hope is that the Grand Central Coffee Company becomes a vibrant hub for the many diverse communities that make up the Valley of the Sun.
In the spirit of the grand dame of train stations, Grand Central, this could be a place for those going nowhere just to be somewhere.
