Visit Phoenix has promoted Lorne Edwards to Vice President of Sales & Services. Edwards joined Visit Phoenix five years ago as Director of Sales after a 16-year career at Hyatt Hotels Corporation. In his new role, Edwards will guide the organization’s national strategic sales and services initiatives.
Michele Lawrie has joined Visit Phoenix’s convention sales team as Director of National Accounts for the Greater Chicago region. Lawrie, a Chicago native, comes to Visit Phoenix after serving for three years as Senior Manager of Meeting Services at the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS). Prior to that, she spent 14 years in the sales division of Hyatt Hotels Corporation–including the last seven as Director of Worldwide Accounts in Chicago.
Frontline employees from Phoenix’s visitor industry are now better equipped to communicate with deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals thanks to the city’s recent hosting of the 53rd Biennial National Association of the Deaf Conference.
