Tee it up in Greater Phoenix

Shrouded by mountains on three sides and covered by a canopy of near-perpetual blue sky, Phoenix and its neighboring communities are home to more golf courses than you could hope to play in one visit. Many of the Greater Phoenix courses were designed by the greats, and most don’t have merely one signature hole, but many.

Some golf courses in Phoenix occupy desert canyons where civilization feels a world away, while others are part of opulent resorts where golfers can indulge themselves with a post-round spa treatment.

A good walk is rarely spoiled

Part of the experience is the playability, part is the environment.

  • The Boulders Golf Club's two 18-hole championship golf courses designed by Jay Morrish are considered some of the most demanding in the Southwest and have amazing views of rugged desert beauty and breathtaking panoramas.

  • Troon North Golf Club has two courses designed by Tom Weiskopf that slope through natural ravines by Pinnacle Peak in north Scottsdale, and the desert landscape throughout is picturesque.

  • One Phoenix golfing experience not to be missed is Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa's Scots-flavored Links Course, one of two layouts next to the only resort to be inspired by the genius of famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

  • If you want to try your hand at the pro’s course, head to TPC Scottsdale and play the Stadium Course designed by Jay Moorish and Tom Weiskopf. This course was specifically designed for the legendary Waste Management Phoenix Open which annually attracts 500,000 boisterous fans, making it the best-attended event on the PGA Tour.

Since you're here

After a long day on the course, kick back and enjoy the local cuisine.

  • Don't miss Barrio Café, known for modern, top-notch preparations of traditional Mexican dishes and margaritas.

  • To get great food with amazing mountain views, check out El Chorro Lodge at the base of Camelback Mountain.

Soothe the mind and muscles with a post-round treatment at a local resort spa.
