Phoenix is a major sports town with professional teams in the NBA, MLB, NFL and NHL, not to mention collegiate and local sports in just about every category with huge fan bases. And the number of sports bars in Phoenix to cheer on your favorite teams is just as impressive.

Whether it’s a pre-game destination or a game-day stop for the sports-minded, the “original downtown sports bar” serves up a winning and hearty lineup with appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees like Sir Charles Southwest Chicken Pasta, as well as a kids menu for rookie starters.

Half Moon Windy City Sports Grill

In terms of rankings, Half Moon Windy City is a step above a typical sports bar with cheeky décor and a club-like atmosphere. Inspired by the owner’s north side Chicago roots, the Biltmore-area grill delivers winning game strategies with high-def TVs that only feature sports and an eclectic menu featuring Chicago-style pizza and Vienna dogs, sammies and award-winning wings.

Despite the Chicago connection, Half Moon Windy City embraces alumni groups from across the country to cheer on their favorite collegiate teams. And for serious sports nuts with late-night munchies, the kitchen stays open daily until 1:30 am.
