Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area is located approximately 35 miles north of central Phoenix. The area offers over seven miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. A scenic, but difficult trail, is Elephant Mountain. Designated for hikers and equastrians, this trail leads visitors to the adjacent Tonto National Forest. Hikers can also take a short, easy hike on Towhee or Metate Trail. The park is open Sun-Thu: 6am-8pm and Fri-Sat: 6am-10pm, 365 days a year.
