Meet in Downtown Phoenix

The fifth-largest city in the U.S. feels surprisingly close-up downtown. The skyline rises against mountain horizons, the blocks connect with ease and the energy of a fast-growing city moves at a laid-back pace.

Growth has translated into a visible glow across the district. New residents. New concepts. Venues that mingle. The Phoenix Convention Center, full-service hotels, restaurants ranging from indie to international, professional sports venues and cultural spaces all sit within reach.

Capacity in downtown Phoenix always feels connected, never overwhelming.

Sky Harbor Airport

Fast, Frictionless Access

From Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the convention core is just minutes away.

Recognized among the Top 10 U.S. Large Airports by USA Today Readers’ Choice (2025), PHX brings attendees directly into the heart of downtown.

From there, the district unfolds easily, navigable on foot, by light rail or by driverless Waymo. Sessions flow into dinners. Dinners into desert sunsets.

Downtown Hotels & Venues

Within several shaded blocks of the Convention Center, downtown hotels and venues share the same footprint. Convention-scale room blocks, rooftop lifestyle properties, historic reimaginings and extended-stay options keep thousands of guest rooms within walking distance, placing attendees close to both the agenda and the district’s energy.

Multi-concept gathering spaces, immersive experiences, sculpture garden dining, modern steakhouse client dinners and intimate chef-led tastings all sit within reach. A vintage jet cabin cocktail one evening, a design-forward reception the next.

Phoenix Bioscience Core

Industry Presence & Innovation

Beyond the venues themselves, downtown connects directly to the industries shaping our region’s growth. Three blocks from the Convention Center, the 30-acre Phoenix Bioscience Core spans more than 6 million square feet and brings Mayo Clinic, Barrow Neurological Institute, TGen, Arizona State University and the University of Arizona into close reach. Since 2019, Phoenix has hosted four times as many medical and high-tech meetings, supported by clinical research and academic depth within walking distance of the convention campus.

Our region’s rapid growth in semiconductor and advanced manufacturing is shaping agendas across engineering, supply chain and technology sectors. More than $200 billion in capital investment since 2020, including TSMC’s $165 billion commitment, is driving executive presence and industry momentum throughout Greater Phoenix. From downtown, planners have direct access to the leaders and partners behind that expansion.

Site visits. Expert keynotes. Clinical depth. All within the district.

Downtown Ambassador Helping Visitor

On-the-Ground Support

And proximity comes with presence. The Downtown Phoenix Ambassadors are on duty seven days a week in high-pedestrian areas near the Convention Center, hotels, restaurants and event venues. Easily recognized in orange “Ask Me” uniforms, they offer directions,
recommendations and walking escorts.

Valley Metro Rail connects downtown to Tempe and Mesa for just $2, with shaded stations and clear signage. Compact blocks and coordinated wayfinding keep first-time attendees moving confidently from arrival through closing reception.

Plan Your Next Downtown Program
