A short drive to Gold Canyon is all it takes to travel back to a vibrant, bustling 16th-century village this spring. The annual Arizona Renaissance Festival returns to Phoenix to delight festivalgoers with a 50-acre circus and amusement park, 16-stage theatre with rotating performances, arts and crafts marketplace, jousting tournament and nonstop feast.
The fair is open every weekend in February and March, and each weekend brings new festivities and special discounted ticket opportunities. Grab a turkey leg and a pint, and check out everything you need to know before you go.

The fair will be in full raucous splendor on opening weekend. Attendees can snag two adult tickets this weekend for only $46 (a $72 value) with advance purchase online (while supplies last).
February 7-8: Chivalry and Champions Weekend
Observe old world trades and unique items crafted by the Queen's artisans! Shop from over 200 shops and save your receipts. This is the Artisan Appreciation weekend to earn a free return visit!
Additionally, sign language interpreters will be available at select stage shows on February 7 in honor of Deaf Awareness Day. Discount tickets are offered for attendees who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
February 14-16: Royalty Weekend
This action-packed weekend kicks off by celebrating the littlest revelers with a Princess Contest for kids ages 5-12 on February 14. On February 15, celebrate diversity and unity during the Royal Pride Day; don’t miss the adult-only Pride costume contest and Queen Katherine's Birthday Surprise on February 16.
Kids (ages 5-12) entry is free on February 16 when you bring a Birthday Card for the Queen to the Festival Box Office.
February 21-22: Time Traveler’s Weekend
On Saturday, children are invited to dress as their spunkiest version of a time traveler, hero or villain for a special costume contest. Adults get a turn on Sunday with a multiverse time travel contest; come as your best hero from across the known universes, and don’t forget to bring your unique backstory.
February 28 - March 1: Pirates Invasion and Brew Fest Weekend
BrewFest takes over the Renaissance Festival the first weekend in March. Enjoy a taste of history with a self-guided flight of seven beers and meads.
Plus, bring two new children’s books to the Kids Need to Read tent outside the front gate for free children’s admission.
March 7-8: Wizards and Wonder Weekend
On Saturday only, children are encouraged to tap into their magical side with a mythical creature costume contest. Sunday, adults are invited to compete in the adult mythical creature/sorcerer contest.
March 14-15: Celtic Weekend
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Renaissance style with a festive Wearin’ ‘O the Green Contest on Sunday, March 15.
March 21-22: Carnival of Masks Weekend
Wear your favorite mask and engage in disguise at the Arizona Renaissance Festival. Join the Carnival of Masks celebration.
March 29-30: Magic & Merriment (Closing Weekend)
Don’t miss the last weekend of Renaissance revelry. Bring three canned food items or non-perishables to the Superstition Community Food Bank’s tent and receive a child (age 5-12) free admission.

Stop into Ye Olde World Sausage Maker for the full English experience — bangers and mash, corn beef and cabbage and shepherd’s pie, among others. For a lighter lunch, check out the salads and pita platters at The Mediterranean Fare.
The fair is packed with pubs offering brew, wines and mead for a sip of the Old World. And when you need an afternoon pick-me-up, seek out one of the roaming carts for some cinnamon-roasted nuts or maybe a glass of bubbly.
For the most memorable dining experience, treat yourself to the Pleasure Feast — a 90-minute show featuring music, laughs, pirate adventures and a five-course Mediterranean dinner. Tickets to the feast include admission to the Renaissance Festival and a limited-edition toasting goblet.
